MARKET CONDITIONS REMAIN POSITIVE

Market conditions remain very positive for Spanish property. According to government statistics prices rose by 1.4% during the third quarter 2015, which is the biggest rise since 2008 and second consecutive quarterly increase. Around 8 out of 10 people own their own home in Spain, which is well above the European average of 70.1% and this possibly explains some of the reasons behind the recent recovery as people do not want to rent. In our opinion the £ GBP will continue its strong position against the Euro well into 2016 but as always there are many factors that could change this thinking. This strength in the £ GBP has certainly helped recovery in the Spanish market for British buyers, but we are also seeing an increase in other European buyers.
