BREXIT - WHAT A SHOCK WAVE

Well the United Kingdom has voted to leave the European union in contrast to popular belief that the remain camp would secure a victory. This has sent shock waves through the financial and business sectors in the immediate aftermath of the result. The problem now is that nobody knows what's next, none of us can predict the future in what are uncharted waters. However, its not all doom and gloom, for example any one who is looking to sell here in Spain and return to the UK will benefit from significantly more GBP for their Euro. The reasons why people have always bought in Spain will remain unchanged and whilst the process may change slightly after the UK exits the EU, the desire to own a dream home in the sun will always continue. Here are just a few of our thoughts on the Spanish property market going forwards.

1. The great climate, fantastic lifestyle, lower cost of living, excellent food, to name just a few will not change as a result of Brexit.

2. The exchange rate could be offset if you are buying from UK GBP by taking a small mortgage in Euros and then at a future date use GBP to pay off the mortgage.*

3. Property prices in Spain are still much lower than they were before the financial crisis and so anyone looking to purchase is still getting a bargain compared to the pre crash prices.

4. Anyone outside the UK will of course be little effected when buying Spanish property and we see no real changes in this market.

5. Amazing health care in one of the best medical systems in Europe.
